GenPy AI is your built-in game-development secretary for visual novel projects. It understands your project structure, helps organize production work, and can prepare reviewable file changes.

What It Is

Use GenPy AI when you need to inspect project structure, plan branches, organize characters or assets, clean up scripts, or prepare implementation changes. Because it reads the structure of your project, its suggestions stay grounded in your characters, files, and story flow.

How to Access It

• Open the AI panel from the right side of the workspace for quick help while building your game
• Switch to the dedicated Agent workspace mode when you want a focused AI-supported development workflow

• Direct editing: Can prepare changes to your files and show a diff for you to accept, reject, or undo
• Real-time streaming: Responses appear as they are generated, so you can follow the assistant's thinking live

Ways to Work with GenPy AI

Chat mode

Use chat mode for project questions, task breakdowns, implementation guidance, and quick context checks. This is useful for understanding files, planning changes, or deciding the next production step.

Direct Edit mode

Use Direct Edit mode when you want GenPy AI to make changes for you. It will prepare edits in your files, show you what changed, and let you review before anything is finalized.

Story Generation

Use Story Generation when you need a planned, reviewable workflow for a chapter or larger story section. GenPy AI first creates a plan for you to approve, then prepares the draft package based on that plan.

INFO

You stay in control. AI-generated edits are reviewable, and you can reject or undo changes if needed.

Usage Tips

• Be specific, such as: "Add a choice at the end of chapter 1: go home / find a friend"
• Select the relevant file before chatting so the assistant can focus on the right context
• You can work in Chinese, English, Japanese, and other languages
• Good prompts to try:
  • "Add a choice branch"
  • "Fix script errors"
  • "Check whether chapter 1 has dead-end branches"
  • "Prepare reviewed file changes for a new character"

Privacy

GenPy AI only reads your project files inside GenPy so it can help with your work. Your content is not used to train models.
